Welcome to my Smug Mug photo collection!

I've always loved the outdoors. So, instinctively that flows into my photographic style. The peacefulness of nature just seems to take on a soothing effect in camera, and on print. What a great way to combine two enchanting forms of art!
I also enjoy shooting macros. The camera can amazingly pull out the most stunning details in everyday items, and I'm always on the lookout for new discoveries.

March 3rd, 2009. That's the day the photo bug really bit me. It had always been nibbling, but it wasn't until that day that I NEEDED to know the "why's" and "how's" of photography. One freeezing cold night, my Husband was taking long exposure night shots while I sat by and just watched, wishing I could do the same, unable to even adjust the shutter speed on the camera I had. So within a week I bought a new camera, then upgraded again 3 months later. I've been soaking up all I can from listening to podcasts to reading magazines, books, and ahhh those internets. I recently enrolled in the online Kelby Training courses.

Growing up, I pretty much always had a cheap 110 or disc camera nearby, and an easy-going cat that didn't mind posing. The technicalities of it all never interested me then. I just knew it was fun to "click", and then wait excitedly while my film was mailed out for development, just hoping that a few came out good.

Guess I just had to wait for the right time in my life for the rest of it all to kick in.

So, here's an ever-growing collection of my (hopeful) progress.
Enjoy!
